The weather in DC is definitely changing at the moment – the leaves are all orange and brown, and it is getting quite nippy! However the sun is still shining, which made it a perfect day for us to visit Arlington National Cemetery. November 11th is Veteran’s Day in the US, very similar to our Remembrance Day, and celebrates the service of all U.S. military veterans. The cemetery was incredibly busy but looked beautiful. We saw the eternal flame to represent the Kennedy family which included memorials for Jackie Kennedy and his brother. I also saw the changing of the guard and the Tomb of the Unknown soldier which is a dedication to the services of any unidentified soldier and to the common memories of all soldiers killed in any war. It was a perfect morning. To finish off Sophie’s trip we went out for dinner at a great burger place and ended it with finally seeing THOR!! (The capitals are necessary to describe how brilliant the film was!) Here are a few photos of Thor for you to enjoy, because no one can deny how gorgeous he is!!
